April 15, 2026
Since April 5, we have been operating a temporary adjusted timetable on a number of bus lines in Utrecht Buiten (the municipality of Amersfoort and the western and eastern parts of the province). This ensures that buses run more punctually and are cancelled less often.
We see that this is working: cancellations have dropped from 6% in February to less than 3% last week. We remain committed to improving this even further.
We have enough drivers and buses for this adjusted timetable. Occasionally, a trip may still be canceled on the day due to accidents, sudden driver illness, or heavily delayed buses.
Behind the scenes, we are working hard on further improvements. Together with our partners, we are working hard to get buses that are standing idle due to damage back on the road as quickly as possible. We are also recruiting new drivers. With more drivers and buses, we can gradually run more buses again.
Although the timetable is temporarily adjusted, about 5% more buses run in Utrecht Buiten compared to 2025.
From May 3rd, we will also adjust some bus lines’ timetables in Utrecht Binnen (Utrecht municipality and nearby municipalities). Plan your trip using the planner on this website or the U-OV app. There you can immediately see what the new schedule means for your trip. Or view all adjusted Line Folders.
From April 16 to May 1, the first trip of line 13 at 5:45 am will run again on weekdays. This trip will depart regularly from Utrecht Central.
