MyU-OV
You travel easily with U-OV using an e-ticket. You buy these digital tickets through the U-OV app. An e-ticket is ideal for single trips, if you want to pay for multiple people, or if you don't have an OV-chipkaart. You pay securely via iDEAL, credit card, or another payment method.
How do I activate my e-ticket?
After purchase in the app, the ticket isn't active yet. You activate the e-ticket yourself on the day you're going to travel. Please note: an e-ticket is device-bound. This means you use it on the same device you bought and activated it on.
How does checking in and out work with an e-ticket?
Your e-ticket has a barcode that you use to check in and out. At the tram, you check in and out at the stop. On the bus, you check in and out on the bus itself. Here's how:
Is an e-ticket personal?
Yes, an e-ticket is personal. Always carry a valid form of ID with you. During a check, you'll need to show both your ticket and your ID. The name on the ticket must match your ID. Valid documents include a passport, driver's license, or identity card.
Buying multiple tickets at once? Then the ID of the main booker applies. This person's name appears on all e-tickets.
Can I get a refund or exchange my e-ticket?
No, refunds aren't possible. Did you accidentally buy the wrong ticket? Unfortunately, we can't refund or change it. So double-check your details before paying.
Where can I buy an e-ticket?
You can buy e-tickets in the U-OV app. Read more about the app.
