U‑OV Max: always travel affordably

With U‑OV Max, you can travel affordably on all U‑OV buses and trams in the province of Utrecht. Unsure whether to choose a subscription, e-ticket, or pay-as-you-go? No need! Just check in and out with your debit card, credit card, or phone (OVpay). This way, you always know your costs, whether you travel a lot or a little.

U-OV Max will also be available on the new OV card during 2026.

U-OV Max Day: never more than €10

Travel with U-OV using your (digital) debit card? Then you pay at most €10 per day. Travel less, pay less. No registration required. Just check in and out with your (digital) debit card.

Are you 12 to 18 years old? After a one-time registration, you’ll never pay more than €6.50 per day.

U-OV Max Month: never more than €100

Want to save even more? Register once for free, for U-OV Max Month. You’ll pay a maximum of €100 per month. Once you’ve reached the monthly cap, you travel for the rest of that month for free. Travel less? Then you pay less. Handy if you’re on vacation or use public transport less one month. If you’re 12 to 18 years old, you’ll never pay more than €65 per month.

Do you currently have a Ster subscription?

Then U‑OV Max is often cheaper for you! Benefits:
- Register once and then travel monthly using your (digital) payment card
- Never pay more than €100 per month (12 to 18 years: €65)
- Travel less, pay less. Handy if you have a vacation
- Valid on all U-OV buses and trams in Utrecht province, which most Ster subscriptions don’t cover

Tip: view your trips in the OVpay app
With the OVpay app (or website), you can easily review all your trips. See your check-ins, travel times, and costs. The app gives you an overview and helps if you forget to check in or out. You can quickly fix it yourself. This way, you always keep track of your expenses.
