Line 1 temporarily follows a different route

29/10/2026

Line 1 now follows a different route between Overvecht Station and Oudenoord. The municipality of Utrecht is renovating the streets in Tuinwijk. Therefore, the bus cannot run there. This will take approximately one year.

What is changing?

Line 1 will temporarily run via Willem Dreeslaan, Draaiweg and David van Mollemstraat. You can board and leave the bus at the stops served by line 3:

During this period, line 1 will not stop at:

Adelaarstraat
Willem van Noortstraat
Willem van Noortplein

Everything else remains the same along the rest of the route. This map shows the adjusted route.

After the work

Once the work is complete, line 1 will follow its regular route through Tuinwijk again. Only the Adelaarstraat stop will not return.

Why?

The municipality is renewing the roads and underground pipes in Tuinwijk. This includes Willem van Noortstraat, Antonius Matthaeuslaan and Pieter Nieuwlandstraat. The streets will have more greenery and wider pavements. Cars will soon be allowed to drive at a maximum speed of 30 km/h. Would you like to know more? Visit the municipality of Utrecht.
