What can I bring?

What can I bring?

Under certain conditions, you can take your scooter, pets or bicycle on the bus.

Pets

Your pet is allowed on the bus or tram, as long as it does not cause any inconvenience. You do not need to purchase a ticket.

Regular Bicycle

You are not allowed to take a regular bicycle or an unfolded folding bicycle on the bus or tram.

Folding bikes

A folded (non-electric) folding bicycle may be taken on the bus and tram. Please note: if it is busy, the driver may decide that it is not safe. In that case, it may not be taken on board.

Scooter

You may bring your (non-electric) scooter on the bus or tram , but only outside rush hour. Fold up the scooter if possible and hold it securely next to your seat. You may also secure it to the wheelchair space, if there is room.

The driver will always assess whether it is safe to take the scooter with you. In some situations, for example when it is busy, he may decide that it is not safe. Therefore, always follow the driver's instructions. This way, we can ensure a safe journey for everyone.

Strollers

Strollers are welcome on the bus. Secure the stroller in the wheelchair space using the straps provided and hold your child on your lap. This is the safest option. Is the wheelchair space occupied or is a passenger in a wheelchair boarding the bus? Then fold up the stroller. Keep the walkway clear.

Please note:

  • Notify the driver
  • Is the space occupied? Fold up the stroller, take your child on your lap and sit with your back to the driver.
Kids ticket
Children up to 11 years of age travel free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult.

Wheelchairs

Each bus has space for one wheelchair. Use the button near the second door to indicate that you wish to board. The driver will assist you with the ramp and boarding. Secure yourself with the seat belt.

Are you travelling with an electric wheelchair? If so, we recommend that you position yourself backwards in the wheelchair space.

Our trams are also wheelchair accessible.

Mobility scooters

Unfortunately, you cannot travel on our buses with a standard mobility scooter. Foldable mobility scooters are permitted. If you are travelling with one, you can use the fold-out ramp or lift. To ensure that no unsafe situations arise and that our other passengers are not inconvenienced, you may travel if:

  • You can board independently (or with the help of a fellow passenger)
  • The foldable mobility scooter fits in the wheelchair space
  • You use the safety belt

In our trams, a mobility scooter can safely come along.

Walking aids

Walking aids are permitted up to a maximum size of 120x70x109 cm. They must have a brake and be able to be securely fastened. The driver will assess whether the aid is permitted.

These rules ensure that everyone can travel safely and comfortably. Whether you are travelling with children, bringing a folding bicycle or using an aid, public transport in the province of Utrecht is there for you.
