No trams between Utrecht CS and Nieuwegein/IJsselstein from June 27 to July 5 

From Saturday, June 27 to Sunday, July 5 2026, no trams will run between Utrecht CS Centrumzijde and Nieuwegein/IJsselstein. With this work we ensure that the tram continue to run safely, reliably and comfortably in the future. During the work, the contractor will work on tram crossings, tracks, and technical installations along the route. This ensures you can continue to travel safely, reliably, and comfortably by tram in the future. From Monday, July 6, trams will run on their normal schedule again.

Replacement transport Options

During the works, replacement buses will operate. The replacement buses run as frequently as the tram and depart from Utrecht CS at stop C7. View the map for a complete overview of the routes of the replacement bus lines 920, 921, 923, and 924.

You can also use our regular bus lines. We recommend planning your trip using the journey planner in the U-OV app or on this website to find the best route for you.

Traveling between Utrecht CS and Nieuwegein City? 
Use the replacement bus line 920 or use the regular lines 74 or 77. 
 
Traveling between Utrecht CS and Nieuwegein-Zuid? 
Use replacement bus line 920 or the regular lines 65 or 74. 
 
Traveling between Utrecht CS and Nieuwegein Zuilenstein? 
Use replacement bus line 921.  
 
Traveling to Antonius Hospital in Nieuwegein? 
Travel to Nieuwegein City and transfer to replacement bus line 923. This service operates between Nieuwegein City, the Poort van Nieuwegein stop, and the St. Antonius Hospital. Please reserve the Dial-a-Bus at least 30 minutes in advance by calling 030 765 1259.  
 
Traveling between Utrecht CS and IJsselstein or between Nieuwegein and IJsselstein? 
Use replacement bus line 921. Between Utrecht CS and IJsselstein city center, you can also use bus line 395 towards Rotterdam Capelsebrug. 
 
Traveling between IJsselstein city center and IJsselstein-Zuid? 
Use replacemant bus line 924. Please reserve the Dial-a-Bus at least 30 minutes in advance by calling 030 765 1259.
 
Traveling between Utrecht CS and P+R Westraven? 
Use replacement bus lines 920 or 921, or use regular bus lines 65, 66, 74, and 77.

Traveling from/to Kanaleneiland? 
Then use line 7. Between Utrecht CS and Kanaleneiland, you can also use lines 102, 184, 195, 307, and 395.
 
Traveling with a mobility scooter? 
Unfortunately, you cannot take your mobility scooter on the replacement bus. Therefore, we will arrange alternative transport for you during the works. Please book your trip at least four hours in advance by calling 088 - 076 00 08. You can use this service until 11:00 PM. We will make sure you are taken to the tram stop you need.
