For just € 30,00 per month, you’ll have unlimited travel at your disposal between 9:00 and 16:00 and after 18:30 on business days and all day on weekends. This subscription is valid on all buses and trams operated by U-OV within the province of Utrecht.

When can you travel with U-OV Dal Vrij?

This subscription provides unlimited and free travel on:

Off-peak hours on business days (Monday to Friday): from 09:00 to 16:00 and 18:30 to 6:30 the next day
Weekends: from Friday at 18:30 to Monday 04:00

For your consideration

This subscription renews automatically every month. You can easily cancel it via your MyU-OV account.
It is valid on all U-OV buses and trams; however, night buses are not included. For a journey on the night bus you pay a fixed fare of€5,00. For U-flex, this product only applies if you pay on board the vehicle.
You must always check in and out, even if you have an unlimited travel subscription. Please note: your physical payment card is different from the digital card on your mobile phone or smartwatch and are therefore seen as two different cards.
Do you also travel during peak hours from time to time? With U-OV Dal Vrij you will never pay more than €70,00 per month for those peak journeys. You pay for your U-OV Dal Vrij subscription in advance, peak-hour travel costs are calculated at the end of each day. If,in a given month, you have spent €70,00 on peak-hour travel with U-OV, you travel free for the rest of that month during peak-hours.

Tip: We recommend using your physical payment card where possible. Digital cards are sometimes replaced, which can cause the subscription to become disconnected.

Frequently asked questions

Unfortunately, no. This subscription can only be connected to a bank card, credit card or contactless payment card on your smartphone. When available, the new OV-pas will also be able to be used to travel with this subscription.
U-OV Unlimited Off Peak is valid on all U-OV daytime lines, from the start to the end of the timetable. Night lines are not included. This subscription is valid on lines 90 and 395 operated by U-OV, but not with Qbuzz.

Yes, you can, but please be careful. Banks regularly renew digital cards automatically to prevent fraud. You won’t notice this yourself, but when this happens, the travel product is no longer linked to your chosen card.
Check regularly whether the discount is still being applied – you’ll see this reflected in your travel costs. Want to be sure you always travel with the product? Then link it to your physical debit or credit card.
No. U-OV Dal Vrij is linked to one card. A physical card and a mobile payment card are not the same, even if they are linked to the same bank account. So when buying any subscription, you’ll need to decide which card you want to use for travel.
No. After purchase and linking, U-OV Dal Vrij is activated automatically.
Are you under 12 or over 65 and do you receive an age-based discount on your card? Then with U-OV Dal Vrij you only receive age-based discount on your peak-hour journeys. For your off-peak journeys, you pay the fixed amount of € 30,00 per month.
Yes, even with an unlimited travel subscription you must always check in and out. If you don’t, you may receive a fine.
U-OV Dal Vrij starts on the date of your choosing. For example, if you start on the 12th of February, your pass will be valid until the 11th of March. Your Unlimited Off Peak subscription will automatically renew each month. You must cancel it yourself if you no longer want to use it. You can do this easily via your my U-OV account.
To add an OVpay product to your (digital) debit card, first travel once with that (digital) card. Use the payment reference for that journey to validate your debit card. The next steps are as follows:
Step 1. Go to mijn.u-ov.nl and click on Request account. Do you already have a U-OV account and have you added your debit card? Then go to mijn.u-ov.nl and proceed to step 8.
Step 2. Enter your details, accept the terms and conditions and click on Next.
Step 3. Continue to enter your details. Have you filled in everything? Click on Create account.
Step 4. Your request has been confirmed. We have sent you an email. Click on the link in that email and confirm your account.
Step 5. Select Add debit card.
Step 6. Indicate whether you have already travelled with the (digital) debit card on which you want to put the travel product. To add it, you will need to use the payment reference for that journey. This will validate your debit card.
Step 7. Enter the details of the journey you made with your (digital) debit card. The journey must have taken place no more than 30 days ago. You can find the details on your bank statement. The payment reference always starts with “NLOV”. You will use this together with the journey price to validate your debit card. Have you travelled with both your physical card and your mobile card? If so, please check carefully which payment number you select. Have you filled in everything? Click on Add debit card.
Step 8. Your (digital) debit card is now in your account! You can now travel automatically for up to €10 per day on all U-OV buses and trams. If you travel less, you pay less. Would you like to add more products? Click on Products.
Step 9. Click on Order now for the product of your choice.
Step 10. Give your debit card a name and agree to the terms and conditions. Then click on Confirm order.
Step 11. Check your details and click on Confirm order.
Step 12. You will receive a thank you message for activating the product.
