Update on the Current Situation

On January 8 and January 22 we shared information about the current situation in Utrecht, focusing on key issues:
At the moment, buses still cancel too often. We understand this is very frustrating for you as a traveler. The main cause lies in the current driver schedules. These include extra bus changes for drivers, which can cause a domino effect. This leads to delay after delay, ultimately resulting in canceled trips. We also continue to face staffing shortages.

What are we going to do?

  • From February 8 (Utrecht City Centre) we will adjust the schedules. This is an important first step toward a more stable and reliable timetable.
  • From February 15 (Utrecht Countryside) we will improve several bus lines to help travelers complete their trips more easily without unnecessary transfers. This applies to lines 2, 302, 341, and 376.

After these changes, we will continue to look for further improvements. Based on new insights, we will take additional steps to increase the predictability and reliability of the timetable. We will share more information about this soon.

Since cancellations have a major impact, having up-to-date and reliable travel information is extra important. Together with the province of Utrecht, we are working to quickly improve how this information is provided, so you know faster and better what to expect.
